Grave Discussions Top 10 Horror Films of 2020

Welcome, gravers, to a brand new year of fear! As we anxiously enter 2021, we can’t forget about the chaotic journey that 2020 put us through… but despite the real-world terrors and the influence they had on us, the horror genre proved its resilience in the face of unforeseen circumstances and box-office turmoil. Even navigating the financial difficulties of a global pandemic, horror continued to break the mold and find success on digital platforms, particularly with an impressive show of force by the independent film scene that showed why it is the future of the genre.

Every year since the show’s inception, Grave Discussions’s Barnabas and Samael have put together their respective Top 10 Horror Film lists, and this one is no different! Several key 2020 releases were delayed due to COVID, but there was no shortage of excellent content to choose from for these lists, and it was more than a little difficult to make them.

If you haven’t listened to our latest episode, where we go over several other items on our complete lists and explain our rankings in-depth, you can do so here. Otherwise, you can find the written lists below and view the full rankings on our Letterboxd profiles, which are linked below.
